My Kitchen

Oh, my goodness, I love my kitchen! When my husband and I were house hunting, the kitchen and the master bath of this house really knocked my socks off. Our kitchen is done in black granite tile and light oak wood, with a pergo floor. The tile work is original and beautiful. And best of all, there are zillions of cabinets, and you best believe we use them all and then some!

In our kitchen is also a five-tier bookshelf that is over-flowing with cookbooks inherited from friends and family, received as gifts, purchased by myself and my husband, not to mention the cooking magazines, including Gourmet and Bon Appetit. I also have a lovely little recipe book to write in that my husband bought me some years ago, and in it are the family recipes passed down from his and my side, as well as our favorite home recipes that we'll pass on to our kids.

Of course, a meal is best when shared with others, and so I feel like I should share some of my favorite recipes with you. Some are our own family recipes; many are recipes that I have found in various cookbooks and changed to suit our tastes. I hope you enjoy this section of the site, and please shoot me an e-mail if you try these recipes to let me know what you think!

The recipes are located in the next post, and some of my favorite cooking websites are listed at right. Don't forget to stop into my blog every now and then, because if I experiment with cooking, I'll post it there.

Please click on a recipe name to view the recipe page and, when I've remembered, a picture of the finished product! When I add a new recipe, I'll update the little date in the corner to the upper left of this post.

Note that those recipes with the Zilinski label are ones that are either originals from our family or have been passed down through the generations and the original source is lost. For other recipes I've listed, I've tried to give credit where credit is due. Please click on the recipe to see the original source. If the source is not listed, but you know the original source, please contact me and let me know! Nothing ticks me off more than seeing my work uncredited on somebody else's website or blog, and I don't want to be that person.
